The Hesston College men’s soccer team dropped a 5-2 match to Kansas City Kansas CC on Tuesday, Sept. 8, putting its record at 2-4.
The Larks trailed 2-0 at the break and 3-0 in the 57th minute when freshman Leonardo Arruda (Sao Paulo, Brazil) brought the home crowd to its feet with a goal to pull Hesston within two. Just two minutes later Shuhei Watsuka (Nara, Japan) capitalized to pull to 3-2.
A scrappy Hesston squad kept fighting throughout the remainder of the match but was unable to score again. KCK added two late goals to set the final. KCK outshot Hesston 14-9.
